Beautiful & Unique Jewellery at Realistic Prices
I have always been interested in the colours and forms of art metals and in techniques such as enamelling and engraving. I take my inspiration from the forms of nature and the great goldsmiths and enamellers such as George Jensen, Boucheron , Lucien Falize, Carl Faberge, Rene Lalique, Tiffany, Fouquet ,Vever, and Bulgari.
With the usual demands of a full time career and a family my involvement with my art was limited to any precious moment I could salvage from a busy schedule but in October 2001 early retirement allowed me to fulfil a lifetime's ambition to study jewellery and silversmithing at the prestigious John Cass College.
After four years of intensive study and examinations in the theory, design and practical assessment I was awarded C&G certificates at advanced craft level in both Jewellery and Silversmithing. These awards cover a complete range of design and making techniques for both jewellery and silversmithing
The G&G qualification is the recognised UK jewellery trade qualification and although I am professionally trained and qualified I still do not intend to turn my passion into a full-time business. However with rising costs of precious metals and the problem of what to do with the work I create, I need to sell my work. This allows others to share the joy my designs which are both unique and quite different from the type of jewellery that you will see in the average high street shop.
Those who wish to share these unique creations with me can if they wish commission a piece to their requirements and if they should wish to do so, participate in the actual design process. We all gain from this I can continue to design and make and my customers will gain a unique work of art at a realistic cost.
My speciality is enamelling and engraving but of course these are not to everybody's taste so I also make the more traditional celebratory items such as engagement rings and wedding rings and jewellery. Traditional and art jewellery can be commissioned in a heavier range more suited to men.
Most jewellery that you see in the high street is designed on a computer using a standard set of jewellery elements [that's why they all look similar to each other] , they are then cast with gemstones in place directly from the computer file and produced on a truly enormous scale giving the UK high street jewellers a similar look to jewellers in many other countries.
